Warning signs include increasing pain several days after extraction (rather than gradual improvement), swelling that worsens after the first 48 hours, fever above 101F (38.3C), difficulty swallowing or opening your mouth, red streaks extending from the extraction site, or pus discharge from the socket
As you can see in the graph below, nicotine from cigarettes rockets up (the green line) while nicotine from e-cigarettes (the blue line) takes much longer and nowhere near as much nicotine works its way into your blood (the red line is from the more complicated vapourisers which actually push the vapour into your lungs)
