Middlesex D&H 860 Spence's Medals Metal flaw on cheek onObv: A shepherd under a tree. Rev: Stag and tree. Edge: Plain. Uncirculated and Choice brown with satiny patina. The stag die was initially created for the Essex Epping D&H 1, which is a specious one shilling token issued by Spence. The reverse die didnt last long, but the stag was then muled with several other Spence dies, of which this is one. The shepherd reclining under the tree was one of Spences favorite dies.
